Lead Water Testing
Public Act 099-0922 requires public school districts (LEA) to test for lead in all water sources used for cooking and drinking in schools built on or before January 1, 2000, in which more than 10 pre-kindergarten through 5th grade children are present. The school district contracted IDEAL Environmental Engineering to conduct the sampling as required by the Act. On September 19, 2017 IDEAL collected 18 samples of water from 9 different sources and sent the samples to the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency for testing as required by the Act. No sources of water sampled were found to have detectable levels of lead in the water.
