Who Are We?
Cissna Park C.U.S.D. #6 is a PreK-12 Grade public school district 90 square miles in area, all of which lies in southern Iroquois County. While we have three different schools, they are all located on the same campus. Most elementary classes have one section per grade level. Many classes average around 23 students per grade level.
The District is located 100 miles south of Chicago and 50 miles northeast of Champaign-Urbana. The population of the district is approximately 2000. The three areas of population are the village of Cissna Park (850 residents), the unincorporated village of Claytonville, the Kellart Lake subdivision, and surrounding areas.
The primary source of employment are agriculture production and services, and government providers (school). Cissna Park doesn't have a stoplight, and that suits us just fine! Although we are a small town, we have plenty of heart and businesses that care about our school.
We have worked hard to keep our little school open and active to preserve our small-town feel. When you attend or work at Cissna Park Schools, you'll know everyone by name and receive a warm welcome in our close-knit community. While many of our families are "born and bred" in Cissna Park, we have plenty of others who move to our area looking for a small school setting in our modern world.
We hope you'll join us!
