Location:
We are located about 2 hours South of Chicago and about 30 minutes from the Indiana border. Kankakee is about 40 minutes away while Champaign is about 50 minutes from town.

Highway 49 goes straight through town and we are close to I-57. ​

Spirit:
Cissna Park is a community that is built on generations of families who have all attended Cissna Park schools. You'll find strong family ties here that showcase the best that the Midwest has to offer. 

Sports:
School sports are a highlight of the community and we have had plenty of success with teams that continually compete at the regional or state level. The school is always busy with a tournament, game, or match on weeknights and the weekends. The local recreation board also offers many opportunities as well.​

Small Town Feel:
Cissna is the place where you can walk into any of our businesses and often be greeted by the owner themselves. Friendly waves are often part of any trip to the main drag where you can get a tool at the hardware store, grab a latte, visit the bank, get some groceries, find a gift, or stop for a meal.

Communication:
The locally owned newspaper is printed every Thursday and remains the main staple of what is going on in and around town. Many in town are connected to the farming industry and you'll hear plenty of talk about the weather and how the fields are looking!

Employment:
Many residents work in the agriculture industry. The school is another large employer in town. Some residents work in town while others choose to live in Cissna Park but commute to work in a nearby area.

Housing:
There are often homes for sale in town that are affordable and well-loved. Cissna Park residents pride themselves on keeping the neighborhoods clean and well kept. You'll find a mix of century old homes with lots of character and history alongside modern ones. 

Public Spaces:
The most popular place in town is the park that helped name the town in the first place! Our park sits in the middle of town with space for a baseball game, play on the playground, shoot some hoops, or sit underneath the covered rotunda. The school grounds are also used often after school hours.

Cissna Park has a feeling to it that we can't quite put into words.
